A lot can happen in two hours. Yesterday Adina took it upon herself to do what no one else cared to do, clean up a part of a stream near her homestay. The tragedy of the commons is real and hundreds if not thousands of people have walked by this very spot and seen this trash slowing collect over a long period of time. But yesterday something changed, the ducks still quacked, the water still flowed, and the rain - even though rainy season is over - still fell, but the trash, which likes to just sit where it is, began to move.
While more work is still waiting for the next river cleanup, Adina was able to move out two full bags of trash in two hours. Her desire to clean up this part of the stream was already there she just needed some boots and the tools to get the job done. She reached out to Sampah Jujur and bought two trashwalk spears and 4 rice sack bags and went to town! Adina we salute you and love your passion and energy! Thank you for taking it upon yourself to start what others seem afraid to do, we hope to see you in your part of the stream picking up the last piece of trash soon!
